About

Building the Future of Arab Climbing

Project A.R.C. is a long-term initiative dedicated to increasing Arab representation in international climbing competitions. Through athlete development, training opportunities, and international support, we aim to create pathways for Arab climbers to compete and succeed at the highest levels of the sport.

Our Story

Project A.R.C. was created to address the lack of representation of Arab athletes in international competitive climbing. Founded by Malek Taleb, a professional coach and owner of Boiler Room Climbing Gym, the project was built from years of experience coaching at World Climbing events and witnessing the challenges faced by Arab climbers trying to reach the international stage.

Through experience working with athletes, coaches, and national federations, Project A.R.C. aims to use that knowledge to support Arab climbers and coaches through structured training opportunities, competition support, and long-term development.

Our Vision and Mission

By empowering Arab athletes to participate and succeed competitively on the international stage, Project A.R.C. aims to support their growth and development while inspiring the next generation of climbers.

Our goal is not just participation — it is progression. Project A.R.C. works to identify and nurture Arab athletes, guiding them through the stages of international competition from qualification rounds to finals, with the long-term goal of achieving success at the highest levels of climbing, including the Olympic stage.

Building Towards the Future

Project A.R.C. is designed as a long-term initiative, starting with youth athlete development and expanding toward creating sustainable infrastructure for Arab climbing.

  • Years 1-3, Developing the Next Generation

The first stage of Project A.R.C. focuses on identifying and supporting young Arab climbing talent while building the foundation needed for long-term success. We aim to create a network of athletes, coaches, and supporters dedicated to elevating Arab climbing through structured training opportunities, mentorship, and competition preparation.

By focusing on youth athletes in the early stages of development, we can create a strong pathway for future generations of climbers. This stage includes preparing athletes for international competitions, including IFSC Youth World Championship events, while providing the guidance and support needed to help them progress from emerging athletes into competitive climbers on the world stage.

  • Years 4-8, Expanding Opportunities

After establishing a strong foundation with youth athletes, Project A.R.C. will expand its support to senior athletes competing at the highest levels of international climbing. The focus will shift toward helping athletes compete in major World Climbing events, including World Cup and World Championship competitions.

During this stage, we aim to continue developing the network of coaches, athletes, and organizations involved in Arab climbing while creating more opportunities for athletes to gain international experience. The continued growth of the program will help strengthen competitive climbing across the Arab world and create a sustainable pathway for future athletes.

  • Years 9-10, Building Infrastructure

The long-term vision of Project A.R.C. is to create the foundation needed for Arab athletes to train and compete at the highest level within their own regions. This includes exploring the development of dedicated training facilities in Arab countries that can support athlete preparation, coaching development, and the growth of competitive climbing.

By investing in infrastructure, Project A.R.C. aims to create a sustainable environment where athletes can access high-quality training opportunities, national programs can continue to grow, and Arab countries can become active contributors to the international climbing community.

Join the Movement

Project A.R.C. is more than a program — it is a movement dedicated to creating opportunities, increasing representation, and building a future for Arab climbing. Our goal is to create a lasting pathway where athletes have the support, resources, and opportunities needed to develop, compete, and succeed on the international stage.

This journey cannot be built alone. Whether you are an athlete looking to pursue your goals, a coach wanting to contribute your experience, a supporter who believes in our mission, or an organization interested in helping grow the sport, there is a place for you within Project A.R.C.

Together, we can continue building a stronger climbing community, inspire the next generation of Arab athletes, and create a future where Arab climbers are represented and competing among the best in the world.
